Hello and welcome! 👋🏼
Because you’re here, I’m gonna assume you’re probably a somewhat frazzled stepparent. So let’s make it as easy as possible for you to find exactly what you need! I wish Substack also wanted to make that easy, but sometimes the user experience around here isn’t as friendly as I’d like. This post is my workaround for that.
For free subscribers
Most folks around here come in as free subscribers, yet a lot of our content lives behind paywalls. Figuring out what’s accessible isn’t always straightforward, so here’s a Starter Pack that includes all our free posts. (All content on our main website is also free.)
At any time, you can unlock access to paywalled content by becoming a paid subscriber. You can even offset your subscription costs by inviting a buddy or two!
In the meantime, I email free subscribers all our new posts, including previews of paywalled posts. Everything is accessible during a free trial too if you just wanna dip your toes in.
For paid subscribers
For paid subscribers, here’s the essentials to get you started:
Group Chat: Our private chatroom-style support group for stepparents.
Sanity Sundays: Our weekly post/email. (Free subscribers: you’ll get a preview of this each week too!)
Q&A Wednesdays: Dan & I record Q&A podcast episodes answering your personal questions — we usually do one or two of these per month, depending how many questions come in. Got a question you’d like answered? Ask us here!
Ebooks + Guides + Workshops: These are our deeper-dive resources, along with archived episodes of our private podcast, Keep Calm & Blend On.

💕 BECOMING BLENDED
Like any house, the foundation of your blended family is essential to its long-term stability. This is where you’ll find resources on how to stepparent, fitting in with your stepfamily, connecting with your stepkids, stepcouplehood & getting your partner on board, and how to actually blend.
🔥 HELP FOR HIGH CONFLICT
Blending a family is already complicated, but add a difficult ex or disordered stepkid into the mix and you’re gonna need a bigger boat. Here’s where you’ll find tips for co-parenting/parallel parenting, creating effective boundaries, combatting parental alienation, and supporting troubled stepkids.
💝 BURNOUT RECOVERY
Stepparents tend to give this role our all — sometimes to our own detriment. If you need judgement-free support for stepping back a bit (commonly called “disengaging”), putting your own mental health first, and staying grounded amid the chaos, we’ve got you covered.
