😡 Parental alienation sucks.
High conflict is one thing, but alienation is a whole new level of awful.
Conveniently, Furiosa became available for streaming while we were impatiently waiting for the next episode of House of the Dragon to drop.
It’s not like I forgot how dark the last Mad Max movie was, but Furiosa hit me extra hard.
“Really looking forward to House of the Dragon as a lighthearted palate cleanser after this,” I semi-joked to Dan. All things Game of Thrones now seemed thoroughly tame by comparison.
Reminds me of how I used to think my ex was difficult… till I saw the kind of crap Dan’s ex pulled and realized my own co-parenting situation could be sooo much worse.
That was in the early years though, which themselves would’ve practically been a breeze compared to the soul-crushing, heart-wrenching alienation tactics that devastated our family later on.
Supporting stepfamilies is a small niche; stepfamilies in high conflict even more so. But the smallest niche of all belongs to those of you living with parental alienation — whose kids and stepkids are being deliberately and actively turned against you.
